In science this week, Class Atlantic learnt all about how water is transported through flowers. We explored how flowers need water for photosynthesis and how water evaporates from leaves through transpiration. We then began our investigation by making a hypothesis and writing predictions on what temperature would help the stem of a plant transport water to the leaves and petals the quickest. We placed a plant in some water with food colouring and choose a fridge for a cold place, outside for a mild place and on top of the radiator for a warm place, and observed, at regular time intervals, when the petals started to change colour.
