Welcome to Cumberworth CE (A) First School

We have places available in Reception, Y1 and KS2.
Please contact the school office if you are interested, we would love to show you around!

On behalf of all the children, staff and governors I would like to welcome you to Cumberworth First School’s website. I hope you find the information informative and that it gives you a feel for the family school we are, where our Christian values are at the heart of everything we do.

We recognise, value and nurture each child’s individual qualities that makes them unique and celebrate their successes, academically and socially, as they progress on their learning journey with us. I hope this website gives you an insight into our school and its ethos. If you have any questions that are not answered by the website please do not hesitate to contact us. Visitors to our school are always welcome - please come and have a look around and find out more about us. You can make an appointment by phone or email.

Our aim is to provide teaching and learning that is stimulating, challenging and tailored to the needs of each individual child. We want our pupils to be enquiring learners who are able to make meaningful contributions in the world. To achieve this, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum, both inside and outside the classroom. A strong emphasis is placed on providing our children with curriculum enrichment activities to enhance their learning. These range from offering a variety of clubs, sporting opportunities and trips and visitors relating to different aspects of the curriculum.

We are incredibly proud of our small school and I hope you will come and visit us so you can experience first-hand our school family and all we have to offer.

Mrs Fiona Claxton, Headteacher
